I need to chill out.

Gazelle - I love your suggestions but Chicago has defense against your strategy in all directions: cabs are zooming around everywhere so no need to call one...AND the damn bars don't close until 5 a.m. on Saturdays. I know, WTF? In my past it made for many a confusing Sunday for me. But I like the idea of setting up little reminders on my phone to keep me in check. I do all the crucial and long runs before I leave and go into my days away with only my 'easy' runs to do, where if I miss them, it's NBD to me.Marathon Maritzahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00617226310522206108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34245096.post-35012594347276224572008-12-04T15:03:00.000-08:002008-12-04T15:03:00.000-08:00I think you'll be fine. Really 5 days isn't that bad. As long as you get 2 runs in, you'll be fine. I was gone for 2 weeks during my marathon training. I missed a 14 miler and replaced it with a 4 miler. You're body is healthy and trained. It will remember what to do when you get back to Portland :)P.O.M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16410533843419723414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34245096.post-64179304501269537102008-12-04T13:29:00.000-08:002008-12-04T13:29:00.000-08:00So with a goal of an 8 min average for a 9 mile tr...So with a goal of an 8 min average for a 9 mile training run I take it your goal for the HM has changed? With training runs like that you'll do awesome in the race!Zachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00230676631293029153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34245096.post-11294505420873733142008-12-04T13:23:00.000-08:002008-12-04T13:23:00.000-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Zachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00230676631293029153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34245096.post-83436401569407683212008-12-04T12:40:00.000-08:002008-12-04T12:40:00.000-08:00I think your ideas are good ones - especially the ...I think your ideas are good ones - especially the water one. Also - if you are out at a bar, set your cell phone to alert you about 20 minutes before it's time to leave - that way you can call a cab if necessary (and I'd make sure you have a couple cab company #s programmed in your phone ahead of time) & get back to your hotel for the sleeping. It's easy to just go with the flow of the group, but if your phone beeps at you, you'll at least stop and think about leaving! :) Have fun!Amy - the gazellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06290343648184416057noreply@blogger.com
