I just returned from a week long yoga retreat last night. It was a teacher training retreat focused on Yin Yoga. You can check out the description here.
There is so much to write about the experience and I hope to have a fuller post on it someday (right!), but for now I’ll show you our typical day:
6:30 – wake up
7-7:30 – seated group meditation, typically done in silence
7:30-8 – free time, but I typically did my pranayama
8-9 – breakfast
9:30-12:30 – morning yoga session
12:30-1 – free time
1-2 – lunch
2-3:30 – free time
3:30-6 – afternoon yoga session
6-7 – dinner
7-8:30 – evening yoga session
That is 7.5 hours of yoga, meditation and discussion a day. That is a lot of yoga-related activities. I met some wonderful people. I spent time in a quiet beautiful place tucked into the woods. I ate good vegetarian meals every night. I soaked in natural hot springs. I was more introspective than I’ve been in quite some time. I came out as the same me, but a more settled me than the start. I have come a long way in 33 years but especially in the past year and had time to appreciate that.
I am so happy I did this and I would recommend that all of you try something similar at some point in your lives.
Namaste.

so awesome. A yoga retreat is on my life list, but now I'm inspired to move it up on the schedule!
I think THIS is what I need to do for myself for my 40th.
Did you really go to the Cook Islands for 2 months!? I need your e-mail, please....trying to plan the trip of a lifetime with my fellow nursing friends.
